43rd Avenue Safety and Mobility Projects
Premier was selected by the City of Phoenix to provide final design for this roadway improvement project. It includes safety and capacity improvements at the 43rd Avenue intersections at McDowell and Thomas Roads, a new HAWK signal at the Grand Canal Trail crossing, and lighting upgrades from McDowell Road to Camelback Road.
Intersection improvements included a new southbound through lane, new raised concrete medians and new ADA ramps on all four corners. Widening of the roadway included new curb and gutter, pavement, sidewalks, ADA ramps, driveways, a bus bay, storm drain inlets, reconfiguring existing drainage basins; relocation of traffic signal poles and equipment; relocation of street lights and traffic signs, SRP Irrigation junction box, fire hydrants and other above ground utilities; landscape reconfiguration, and pavement marking.
