As a subconsultant, Premier prepared final construction documents to relocate 18,210 feet of public waterline throughout the entire freeway corridor. The waterline design was prepared in accordance with City of Phoenix Water Services Department standards for pipelines ranging in size from 4 inches to 54 inches in diameter and included preparation of design reports, calculations, and permit applications to obtain approvals from the City, Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), and Maricopa County Environmental Services Department (MCESD). Due to the project’s high-profile and aggressive schedule, effective coordination was a key component, which included numerous meetings with City staff, including field inspectors), various project engineering disciplines, and private utility companies, as well as the contractor. We also provided post-design services, including, review and coordination of project submittals and requests for information; plan revisions based on contractibility reviews and field conditions; and input on maintenance of plant operations/shut-down plans. Additionally, our staff provided project wide construction staking and geotechnical quality control services.
